The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is inviting feedback to its newly published discussion document on the commissioning of independently produced local content.
As per the provision of Section 61 (1) of the Electronic Communications Act of 2005 (as amended), ICASA is required to prescribe regulations regarding the commissioning of independently produced South African programming. Findings emanating from feeback to the discussion document will form a foundation in the development of draft regulations for further public consultation.
Copies of the discussion document are available at ICASA library and on the Authority’s website: www.icasa.org.za.
Written submissions on the issues raised by the discussion paper are invited from all interested parties.
