The third annual Promax/BDA Africa Awards & Conference takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 16 and 17 October.
South Africa’s leading producers of on-air promos and broadcast design will be competing in the awards, while a host of top international and local speakers will give presentations on the latest topics in the industry.
The theme for this year’s event is “Super Powers – Behold the Anonymous Heroes’.
One of the conference highlights is Emmy-winning writer Mike Reiss’s “The Secret Life of the Simpsons – the stories they didn’t want you to hear’. Reiss will takes delegates through his 19 years on The Simpsons and details his dealings with network censors and celebrity guests, and will discuss about how the show is perceived (and misunderstood!) around the world. He’ll also share the secrets of what makes The Simpsons succeed where hundreds of other series fail.
