The work of past winners of the prestigious Loeries Awards, South Africa’s premier brand communication awards, is available for viewing around Southern Africa courtesy the Loeries’ Travelling Exhibition. The next stops for the exhibition are Vega Johannesburg (9 to 19 May), Vega Durban (1 to 12 July) and Vega Cape Town (18 to 27 July).
Says Gordon Cook, national school navigator at Vega, the Brand Communication School: “”We are delighted to welcome the travelling exhibition to our campuses and the most ambitious among our students are already dreaming of winning their first Loerie Award. This exhibition will doubtless inspire them to new levels of excellence.’
The Travelling Exhibition will also be viewed at Vega campuses by students from KwaMashu, Soweto and Alexandra participating in Imagination Lab, a Vega initiative to teach students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds critical skills with an emphasis on creative communication and expression.
The Loerie Awards, which have become synonymous with excellence in the brand communications industry since their launch in 1979 to promote television advertising, are sponsored by the SABC.
The Travelling Exhibition has been moving around Southern Africa, already having exhibited in Johannesburg and Namibia. After the two Johannesburg schools, it continues to other cities in South Africa, where the winners’ works will be on display at several educational institutions, corporate headquarters and the Aardklop Festival, before embarking for New York.
