One of the biggest advertiser-funded programming projects to date is set to launch a 15-week reality television series. The man who developed the show is Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, CEO of Hydra Properties, a leading Abu Dhabi-based international real estate company. The company is behind the reality series which will see a team of Brits compete against a team of Americans for the chance to win $1m to start their own business venture in the UAE under the Hydra umbrella.
The hunt is now on for contestants to appear in “The Hydra Executives’’ which is being funded by Hydra Properties in co operation with Showtime Arabia and Infinity TV. The producers are looking for people with a myriad of skills and interests but are united in their entrepreneurial spirit and desire to launch and grow a business under the Hydra umbrella.
It will be filmed in Abu Dhabi and require contestants to participate in a 15-week competition, which will conclude with one winner getting up to $1,000,000 to set up their own real estate venture.
Over the course of the programme, the 16 participants – eight men and eight women from the UK and the US – will experience a two-week boot camp, during which they will immerse themselves in the world of real estate. After this, they will be split into two teams, competing against each other.
Setting them tasks will be Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, who will host the show and is famous in the Middle East as one of the younger wave of successful entrepreneurs.
The aim of the programme is to not only to raise the profile of Hydra Properties and its chief executive, but also to promote Abu Dhabi and help build tourism to the destination.
Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, CEO of Showtime Arabia: “This English-language reality show will be the first of its kind for the Middle East audience and also the first involving the real estate sector in the region.’
