The Film Lab is sad to inform the industry of the death of Eric Phala, who passed away in Tembisa on Sunday, 4 November.
A highly respected technician in the Film Lab’s Chemical Mixing department, Phala was a longtime employee, having started at the Lab in 1981 when it was still a division of the Irene Film Labs.
Phala will be sorely missed by his colleagues and by all the filmmakers who came to know him.
