Filming on “The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency’ is set to commence with the arrival last week of Oscar-winning British director Anthony Minghella (“The English Patient’, “Cold Mountain’, “The Talented Mr Ripley’) in Botswana.
American Grammy Award-winning jazz, R&B and neo-soul singer Jill Scott has been cast in the lead role of Precious Mma Ramotswe in the film based on the best selling novel of the same name by Alexander McCall Smith.
American Amy J Moore, who produced the South African film “Slash’, is producing the the film which will be shot in Gaborone, Okavango Delta and the Kalahari Desert.
