The most iconic and arguably most successful movie of all time, “Gone With the Wind’, is being turned into a musical stage play scheduled to open in London’s West End in April 2008. Based on Margaret Mitchell’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, the film starred Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in an epic tale of romance set against the ravages of the American Civil War.
Top theatre director Trevor Nunn, whose credits include mega productions such as “Les Meserables’, “Cats’, “Starlight Express’, “Nicholas Nickleby’ and “Sunset Boulevard’, is handling the stage version.
Music and lyrics are to be penned by unknown composer Margaret Martin. (Source: Studio Briefing)
