Hollywoodreporter.com reports that Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon (Walk The Line, Vanity Fair) and Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Jarhead) are in final negotiations to star in Gavin Hood’s Rendition.
This New Line Cinema production will be Hood’s first film since his Oscar-winning South African film, Tsotsi. It is produced by Steve Golin and executive produced by David J Kanter, Keith Redmon and Michael Sugar.
Shooting is scheduled to commence in November in Los Angeles, New York, Morocco and South Africa.
Rendition tells of a CIA analyst based in Cairo who finds his world spinning out of control after he witnesses the interrogation of a foreign national by the Egyptian secret police.
