The European Audiovisual Observatory has extended an invitation to accredited participants of the Cannes Film Festival to attend a free workshop in Cannes on Sunday 21 May from 15:00 – 17:30.
This workshop will look at the various possible financial partners of a film production and the ways in which they contribute to its financial set-up.

BROADCASTERS’ investment in film production – The Legal Framework by Dr Susanne Nikoltchev, Head of the Observatory’s Department for Legal Information.
DISTRIBUTORS of European Films – Overview of the distribution sector for European films in Europe by Susan Newman-Baudais, Analyst from the Observatory’s Department for Information on Markets and Financing.
VIDEO DISTRIBUTORS and VIDEO ON DEMAND OPERATORS – How do they contribute to the financing of productions? by Dr André Lange, Head of the Observatory’s Department for Information on Markets and Financing.
These presentations of the Observatory’s latest work will be followed by a panel discussion with:
Jean-Paul COMMIN, President of the International Video Federation (IVF) and Chairman of the Observatory’s Advisory Committee
Aviva SILVER, Head of the MEDIA Programme
Jan VANDIERENDONCK, Executive Secretary of EURIMAGES.
This workshop will take place in English with translation from French into English when French is spoken.
