Siyayinqoba Beat It! broadcast on SABC1 Sundays at 13h30 brings positive living and treatment literacy information to people living with HIV and AIDS.

Futhi Ngubane, project manager at SABC Education says: “A person living with HIV and AIDS includes partners, families, friends, care givers and health workers. Siyayinqoba Beat It! reflects the realities of HIV and AIDS and contributes to stigma reduction and openness by breaking through the denial around HIV and AIDS with positive, scientifically based information.”

Although Siyayinqoba Beat It! is meant for a broad spectrum of ages, linguistic and cultural backgrounds, its primary focus is on young people between 20 and 30 who are most rapidly being infected with HIV.

Support group members Busisiwe Maqungo, Vuyani Jacobs, Thembelihle Dlamini, Thami Mthembu and Faan de Villiers with presenter Shalom Ncala encourage communication and feedback from viewers in every programme.

Siyayinqoba Beat It! is directed by Jack Lewis who has spent much of the last 16 years focusing on HIV and AIDS treatment and combating stigma and denial.
