For 22 years the Screen Africa print magazine has been South Africas most trusted source of industry news, with in-depth articles on issues affecting the industry, news of the latest productions shot in Africa and reports on global technology and equipment trends.
In recent years Screen Africa has expanded its offering onto other platforms, namely the Internet and e-mail.
Screen Africa has expanded its brand by coordinating the Screen Africa Talent & Technology Conference, which runs alongside the biennial technology trade show, MediaTech Africa. Screen Africa has also initiated a number of Breakfast Briefings that focus on key industry issues such as film finance, distribution and piracy, among others.
The founder and editor of Screen Africa is Angela van Schalkwyk, a highly respected journalist who comes from a newspaper background. She was also the first person to market the South African film industry at the Cannes International Film Festival and the MIPTV and MIPCOM content markets in Cannes. To entrench Screen Africas international profile, the print magazine is distributed at major international events such as IBC in Amsterdam, the AFCI Locations Trade Show in Los Angeles, the Cannes International Film Festival, MIPTV and MIPCOM in Cannes, France.DAILY news updates on the film, TV, commercial, new media and technology scene on www.screenafrica.com
