DoC ICT Career Expo

South Africa’s Department of Communications (DoC) through the e-Skills Institute and Telkom is hosting its 3rd Annual Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Career Expo 2011 in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng.

This year the main activities of the Expo will take place at the Telkom Centre for Learning. There will be parallel activities held in four other provinces namely; KwaZulu-Natal (Durban), Free State (Bloemfontein), Eastern Cape (Port Elizabeth) and Western Cape (Cape Town), through Telkom Regional Centres.  The theme of the Expo is “e-Generation, Building Capacity for an e–Society”.

The aim of the Expo is to give young learners insight into the sector and to provide them with information on possible career options available to them in the ICT industry.

Learners from High Schools and FET College NQF 4 level students, and IT graduates are invited to attend. The Expo will also offer learners an opportunity to experience and interact with ICT professionals who will share their experiences and knowledge about the sector.

There will be a live cross over to the other four provinces taking part in the Expo for continuity and inclusion in the programme.
