The Final Cut is SABC 3’s very own reality show that takes the viewer through 13 episodes of melodramatic acting challenges and competitive angst in the search for two new faces to grace beloved dramas across SABC platforms. The Final Cut will make its debut on Monday, 26 June 2017 at 19h30 on SABC 3.

The SABC is looking for two new faces to fill the shoes of two new characters to brace the screens in one of SABC’s prominent dramas. This competitive driven reality show is on the search for new raw talent with one ultimate goal: they have the need to act on SABC.

Following our resident judges’ nationwide auditions which took place in Pietermaritzburg, East London and Pretoria; fourteen undiscovered actors will be brought to the sets of SABC’s dramas to face the definitive actors’ challenge.

The Final Cut is hosted by actor and presenter Lawrence Maleka while resident judges include SAFTA award-winning actress and casting director Karin Van Der Laag, actress and film director Mmabatho Montsho and filmmaker and director Thabang Moleya.

Each week, the top 14 actors will be put through episodic acting challenges that will test their craft. Challenges include learning a script in 15 minutes; pulling of a romantic love scene; character improvisation; character makeovers; and so much more.

The competition gets heated as our judges make the gruelling decision to cut one actress and one actor in each challenge episode. Tensions will run high as the series progresses with fewer actors in sight on that big prize – to make the final casting cut on one of SABC’s primetime dramas.
