Due to popular public demand SABC1 Mzansi Fo Sho will re-screen the ANCs Centenary Concert titled, Tshihombudzo, on Tuesday 17 January at 9pm.
The concert was staged as part of the ANCs 100 Years Celebrations and initially aired on SABC1 on Sunday 8 January at 8pm. The Tshihombudzo Concert is a marathon two-hour event featuring some of Mzansis finest artists, musicians and performers.
Some of the big-name acts to grace the historic occasion include the current toast of Mzansi Zahara sharing the stage with the likes of Soweto Gospel Choir, Simphiwe Dana, AKA, Judith Sephuma and Liquideep. More seasoned artists and musicians include Jonas Gwangwa, Dorothy Masuka, Caiphus Semenya, Hugh Masekela, Vusi Mahlasela, and Ray Phiri.
In response to public demand, SABC1 is pleased to bring back on air this historic musical event telling the story of the struggle for emancipation. And what a more fitting way to tell this unique Mzansi story than in music, song and dance, says Vukile Madlala, the Channels Publicity Manager.
The ANCs 100 years celebration event was a live event that uniquely combined theatre, musical theatre, star musical performances and documentary material. All these elements were weaved together to tell the story of the struggle and to capture its historical significance.
