SA first on US talk show

Channel 24 reports that on 10 January Trevor Noah became the first South African stand-up comic to perform on the American talk show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Noah, who stars in the upcoming local film, Taka Takata, joked about the difficulties of growing up in apartheid South Africa, with a black mother and Swiss father.

The clip of Noah's performance on YouTube had generated 66,984 views by early afternoon on 12 January.
