SES has signed new contracts with the African telecommunications carrier, Gateway Communications Africa for capacity on its NSS-703 satellite at 313 degrees East and its NSS-5 and NSS-7 satellites positioned at 340 degrees East.

BSkyB will broadcast 48 new BBC channels dedicated to London 2012 Olympic coverage. Over 40 of the new channels will broadcast in the UK through the ASTRA Satellite System.
