MTN Rwanda is now offering to its subscribers a new mobile application called MTN TV ‘Irebere Nawe’ Innovation. The mobile driven application allows users to stream and share videos on their Android data-enabled handsets at an affordable price.

The MTN TV service allows customers to select a channel of their choice from a bouquet of channels provided and pay for a bundle of US$ 0.12. Moreover, the application provides an additional platform for content providers to share their content.

Commenting on the latest development, Gaspard Bayigane, senior manager of Marketing Operations, MTN Rwanda, said: “MTN TV is based on a local cloud concept whereby all content is available locally here in Rwanda which enables users to stream video content nearly two times faster that non locally hosted content, saving the customer on buffering time.”

“The MTN TV service will deliver an exciting bouquet of rich local and international content to Rwandans. This service bears testimony to the commitment of the company to lead innovation and customer satisfaction in the industry,” he added.

In addition to streaming video, the service boasts advertising services on the application to offer clients another platform to advertise their products and services. The adverts are run as in-app ads or pop-up ads that appear in the process of streaming or browsing the app menus.
