The world’s finest mountain culture and extreme sports filmmakers will be showcased at the South African leg of the Banff Mountain Film World Tour 2010 from 17 to 23 September at selected Ster-Kinekor cinemas. The festival is presented by Cape Union Mart in association with LED Lenser, Deuter, Merrell and K-Way.

Included on the programme are short films featuring mountain biking, rock and ice climbing, kayaking, skiing and skateboarding. One of the must-see films is the 2009 Banff People’s Choice winner – Kranked Revolve. Directed by Bjorn Enga, the film creatively displays mountain biking as the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Says Cape Union Mart Marketing Manager Evan Torrance: “We’ve been in the business of outdoor and mountain sports since 1933. Our association with Banff, for the fifth consecutive year, is testament to the growth and popularity of these and related activities in South Africa. Locals are in for a treat as the festival promises a unique viewing experience.”

Ster Kinekor cinemas participating in the Banff Mountain Film World Tour are Cavendish Square and Tygervalley in Cape Town, Sandton Square in Johannesburg and Brooklyn Mall in Pretoria. Bookings can be made through Ticketline on 08216789 or www.sterkinekor.com.
