Written by Jarrod de Jong and Pieter Oosthuizen, M4gic-J Entertainment brings the new Afrikaans film, Eintlik Nogal Baie to the silver screen this November. The film is produced by de Jong, directed by Jacques Brand, and based on a screenplay titled 'Ally' with characters created by de Jong.

“With an intimate cast of seasoned actors, Eintlik Nogal Baie's storyline is loaded with a good balance of romance, comedy, suspense, tragedy and is shining with charisma,” says de Jong. The story follows Jay van Niekerk, an attractive, but introverted comic book animator who has his life meticulously planned. Life catches up with him and brings him to crossroads when he meets Ally and his life is changed forever in the most dramatic way. “Viewers should definitely bring enough tissues,” adds de Jong.

The film's cast includes Andrι Lφtter, Marisa Drummond, Zak Hendrikz, Ashmund Martin, Elsabι Daneel, Anton Dekker, Susanne Beyers, Themsi Times and Hein de Vries.

Lφtter is known for his role as Liam in Villa Rosa as well as for his role in 7de Laan of which he recently joined the cast as Rickus Welman. “It is definitely a film that will give new meaning to life and love. It was very satisfying to play the role of Jay van Niekerk and it touched me as person and as an actor”, says Lφtter.

Eintlik Nogal Baie is produced in association with MadRobot, The National Film and Video Foundation and The DTI, and is distributed by Times Media Films. The film will be screened at the kykNET Silwerskerm Festival on 24 August 2016 at 16h00.

Eintlik Nogal Baie releases nationwide in film theatres on 4 November 2016.
