Multiple Grammy Award winner, entrepreneur and actress Beyoncé is the focus of an intimate feature-length documentary film, Beyoncé: Life Is But A Dream. The movie releases for one week only in select Nu Metro cinemas around the country from Friday 1 March to Thursday 7 March 2013.
Directed by Beyoncé, the film includes extensive first-person footage, some of it shot on her own laptop, in which she reflects on the realities of being a celebrity, the refuge she finds on stage and the joy of becoming a mother last year.
The film sheds light on her childhood in Houston, examining the challenges she felt when she decided to manage her career and build her own company, Parkwood Entertainment. The film also captures the intense physical and emotional demands on her in the studio, her preparation for live performances, running a business and her family life, including the return to the spotlight after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January 2012.
Apart from directing, Beyoncé is also the film's executive producer, director and editor.
