Indian writer Akshat Verma, who penned the Bollywood hit Delhi Belly, will make a presentation at the Design Indaba Conference, which runs at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 29 February to 1 March.
Described as the Bollywood version of the Hollywood hit, The Hangover, Delhi Belly has the tag line, Shit happens.
Some 15 years in the making, Delhi Belly is Vermas brainchild. The script came to life with the title Say Cheese when Verma was a screenwriting student at the University of California. But it was only when Bollywood star Aamir Khan, who produced the Oscar-nominated Lagaan, took an interest in the film that things started happening.
The rest is history as delegates at Design Indaba will discover.
In Delhi Belly three struggling roommates unknowingly become the potential prey of a ruthless gangster. The film soon became a laugh-a-minute hit in India and abroad.
