
Platteland (67 prints), the new Afrikaans-language musical, had made a whopping R3.7m as at 4 December, after only two weeks of release. It made the number five spot in the Combined Top 10 for the weekend, up against stiff competition from the likes of Puss in Boots 3D and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
Meanwhile, the Ingrid Jonker biopic, Black Butterflies (3 prints), had made R428,824 after seven weeks.
The South African film Skeem (2 prints) had made R493,966 after six weeks.
