A world first from PHABRIX

PHABRIX has announced that it will be showing a new integrated Dolby E generator and analyser at BVE, the Broadcast Video Expo taking place in London from 14 to 16 February.

This is the first time that such a closed loop Dolby E testing environment has been available on a hand held test and measurement instrument and is seen as a significant competitive edge for PHABRIX on its popular platform.

Paul Nicholls, head of sales and marketing at PHABRIX commented: "Previously Dolby E generation and analysis was confined to a purely audio specific domain. Now Dolby E testing can be combined within the sophisticated video toolset of the PHABRIX Sx series providing an engineer with a complete one product solution for test and measurement. We see this as a huge advantage for engineers particularly in the outside broadcast (OB) environment. There has already been significant interest in this new tool and I am delighted that BVE will be its first release.”

The new Dolby feature supports all Dolby E programme configurations. The metadata of the on-board stream library can be edited and stored along with programme configuration and frame rate allowing an engineer to comprehensively check Dolby E audio.

PHABRIX will also be highlighting the advances made to its new rackmount PHABRIX Rx series at BE (Stand H46). The Rx2000 dual screen instrument has already been deployed with over 30 units in place in the UK alone. The new platform is set to have additional modules added to its range by NAB which further extends the generator, analyser and eye and jitter modules presently available.
