After having won the Best Short Film award at the AmaSiko Heritage Festival in Pretoria for his short film, Orange Juice, at the end of September, Namibian director Tim Huebschle was featured at last week’s 14th edition of the Africa in the Picture Film Festival in Amsterdam. His two films, Orange Juice, and Looking for Iilonga, were screened.

One of Namibia’s most prominent filmmakers, Huebschle was present at both screenings and conducted a well attended Q&A session with the Amsterdam audience.

Huebschle was glad to get a very positive feedback from film critics and the general public.

Speaking to his agent in Namibia, Hans-Christian Mahnke, Huebschle said: “The selection of my last two short films by this recognised film festival encourages me to continue to make films. I also see it as a confirmation that I am on the right path. But I cannot rest now and must continue in making films that tell the Namibian story.”
