Facilities

A range of state-of-the-art post-production, audio, graphics and 3D animation facilities can be found mostly in Johannesburg and Cape Town. High definition (HD) and Red ONE 4k workflows, as well as the Digital Intermediate process, can be accommodated. Kodak-approved film laboratories add to the country's well developed production infrastructure.

South Africa also has several film and television studios, mostly in Johannesburg and Cape Town. A major Hollywood style film studio complex in Cape Town is currently under construction and aims to attract big budget international productions once completed.

Equipment

All the latest film and TV production equipment is available through South African rentals companies. The world's leading brands of high definition (HD), Red ONE, HDV, standard definition (SD), 16mm, Super 16mm, 35mm, Super 35mm cameras as well as the latest lighting and sound equipment (including Dolby Surround Sound) are available.
