ABOUT THE JOZI FILM FESTIVAL
The Jozi Film Festival is a new annual film festival that will showcase the latest films made by Jozi and Gauteng filmmakers and/or films made in Jozi or Gauteng in the spirit of independent film and community grass roots. The festivals mission is to create a platform for Jozis growing film community to screen their films, while simultaneously making the films accessible to all members of the community by keeping admission tickets reasonably priced. A few film screenings will even be free.
The Jozi Film Festival is three- day event held in the vibrant city of Johannesburg. Our audience is a unique combination of film industry professionals, a growing arts community, local and regional attendees, and a large student population.
In addition to showcasing a diverse spectrum of films, tributes and galas, Jozi Film Festival also offers provocative Q&A sessions with the filmmakers in attendance.
Competition categories include: Best Feature Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Animated Film, Best Fiction and Non Fiction Short, Best Mobile Phone Film, Best Student Film, and Audience Choice Award.

Submissions being accepted through December 26, 2011

Student Films:
Any genre, any length will be considered.
Short: Fiction
Films 40 minutes or less are considered short films.
Short: Documentary
Films 40 minutes or less are considered short films.
Short: Animation
Films 40 minutes or less are considered short films
Mobile Phone Films
Any genre as long as it deals with the
filmmaker's perception of Johannesburg
and must be 1 to 3 minutes in length.
