Main Purpose of the Job
The Internal Communications manager will manage the internal communications function for the Econet Media group at a strategic level and implement internal communication plans.

Key Responsibilities of this Role
• Translation of the overall communications strategy into a comprehensive implementation plan for the group
• Draft and take ownership of the communications calendar
• Lead the internal communications function for the group
• Integration with related corporate functions such as HR and Finance
• Integration with various levels of leadership within the organisation ensuring alignment with group, business unit/channel strategies
• Ensuring consistency of communications across all geographies
• Translation of messaging into engaging and compelling content
• Custodian of internal communications platforms and channels e.g. intranet, group mailing systems
• Management of all staff events, briefing etc

Key Decisions
• Decides on corporate calendar according to the communications hierarchy
• Decides on which platforms are appropriate for effective communication of the agreed messages
• Decides which external messages need to be communicated internally
• Decides on third party suppliers in support of the execution of his/her duties

• Head of PR & Communication and publicists
• Heads of Marketing across the group including in-country
• Leadership teams across the group including in-country teams
• IT Department
• HR Department
• Partners at content providers
• Suppliers as required for execution of his/her duties

• Matric / Grade 12

Post-school Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree/equivalent in communications or similar

Experience and Skills
• 5+ years’ communications management experience
• Preferably with corporate experience in a group role across business lines
• Exceptionally high cultural intelligence and experience in highly diverse organisations
• Excellent writing skills are a must
• Experience working in Africa outside of South Africa will be an advantage
• Experience of working in multinational Media, FMCG, ITC or tech industries. Must demonstrate ability to work in fast changing dynamic environments
