Job Title: Trade Marketing Specialist
Location: Cape Town/Durban
Main Purpose of the Job
In conjunction with the other line functions, determine the long-term strategic objectives of the Kwese Play business. Ensure business growth through directing and managing all service offerings and delivery activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organisational strategy. To plan, direct and manage retail related marketing activities.
The Trade Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing Trade Marketing to achieve defined business with the Brand Team and responsibility and responsible for ensuring the proper development, execution and benchmarking of all programs designed to increase brand visibility
Key Result Areas of this Role
Develop promotional plans with involvement of sales team, to deliver annual top-line plan.
Develop and execute the trade marketing activities for retail customers
Develop trade marketing support materials
Manage trade marketing spend within agreed budget
Communicate effectively with the Sales team and customers for the designed channel programmes for execution
Deliver specific marketing materials
Monitor implementation of marketing plan elements and offers and deployment of marketing material developed
Execution of Ad Hoc brand related projects
Responsibilities & Duties
Lead trade marketing initiatives to ensure proper strategy is in place to meet both brand and customer expectations.
Identify and develop necessary Point of Sale tools to increase presence, marketing share and improve customer satisfaction.
Develop Customer promotions in collaboration with Brand and Retail Manager and support Market executions.
Create and maintain trade calendar of activities with both Retail and Marketing team.
Monitor and evaluate Trade Marketing programs and activities to measure effectiveness and recommendation of improvements as needed.
To implement and track Trade Marketing programmes for retailers with commercial and marketing teams designed to increase sales and
Carry out specific Trade Marketing Programmes, respecting company commercial policies, company strategy with retailers and brand equity.
Work closely with retail and marketing team to ensure that Trade Marketing strategies are aligned with marketing objectives and sales revenue targets.
Report on sales needs field intelligence to commercial/ marketing teams.
Analyse brand sell through results by channel and make recommendation to increase results
Manage budget and ROI for his/her Trade Marketing activities.
Ability to understand and execute on the purchase and point of purchase drivers
An articulate and persuasive communicator with the ability to forge effective working relationships quickly with all key stakeholders
Self motivated, persistent and attention to detail
Ability to develop and execute project plans
Ability to manage multiple work streams with conflicting objectives
Ability to create effective negotiation strategy, taking into account the needs of multiple vested parties

A relevant BA degree or similar will be advantageous (i.e. marketing)
Experience and Skills
Min 3-5 years of trade marketing management
Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience and understanding of general challenges and daily business of consumer or electronic goods industry, specifically within a Trade Marketing or Customer Marketing context
Former experience /background in Sales highly recommended
Knowledge of marketing and trade marketing activities, tools and techniques is needed
