Main Purpose of the Job

To assist in the managing all integration points on the VOD ecosystem for the Kwesι OTT products. To provide second line support for all OTT products. Understand the systems architecture and play out mechanisms, to ensure that the necessary products reach the OTT subscribers without error. Help with maintenance and support of hardware and software systems (e.g. transcoding systems, CMS, streaming systems). To perform regular maintenance and shut downs in collaboration with VOD Systems Manager and technical teams.

Key Result Areas

• Assist in managing all the integration points on the OTT ecosystem and ensure that all integrations points are maintained correctly
• Collaborate with the CDN team and ensure that all live streams, event based streams and all VOD products play out without error to all subscribers
• Perform regular maintenance and conduct shut-downs, restarts for the Operations team
• Provide second line support for all customer queries and issues
• Address tickets logged by the NOC and ensure that all issues are resolved before it becomes customer facing
• Proactively ensure that errors to the consumer are kept to an absolute minimum through management of the VOD ecosystem

Education

• Matric/Grade 12

Post School Qualifications

• A relevant bachelor’s degree

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years in media / video operations / ITC environment
• Proven ability to maintain IT ecosystem. VOD will be advantageous
• Understanding and expertise in systems architecture Broadcast technology will be preferable.
• Network and systems integration experience
• Ability to collaborate with content teams and technical teams
• Excellent communication skills both downwards and upwards and verbal / written skills
• Able to work alone and or lead and influence a team
• Hard-working, equipped with high degree of integrity, assertive, mature, agile and innovative
• Acute sense of detail and relationship-builder with a winning attitude
