AFDA (The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance) is the leading film school in SA, and a full member of CILECT, the association of the worlds major film and television schools and chairs the CILECT African Regional Association of accredited film schools.
AFDA offers accredited certificate, degree and postgraduate programmes in motion picture production and in live performance. The live performance degree includes screen acting, media performance, musical performance and stage acting.

Production Course Assistant
Key Duties and related skills include:
Assist Production course administrator (PCA) with lecturing production course (PC) across the undergraduate student body
Assist PCA with marking Group Documents submitted once a term.
Assist PCA with moderation and arrangement of panels in Final Pre-Prod, Final Review and VALA panels.
Assist with tracking the hand-out, collection and capturing of Student Evaluation Forms data.
Assist with printing, collating and filing the PC rubrics and assessment forms, including creating the Academic Score Card with the help of the Registrar once a term.
Assist in keeping of academic records and statutory requirements.
Facilitating tutorials and Group Doc Concept Pitches.
Track the progress of Group Doc Hand-In via the register system.
Help at-risk students with Academic Development.
Exceptional computer literacy (Advance Excel, Internet Research, email, MS Word, Power Point, MS Projects 2010)
Management of the online Learning and communications platform my.afda for the Production Course.
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas and taking accurate minutes.
Managing registers and statistics.
Accurate record keeping and filing.
Following up on pending matters with limited direction and reconciling.
Working with financial records and spreadsheets to keep manage a budget.
Letter writing in email or hard copy with a good command of written English.
Communication skills appropriate to interfacing with the general public, staff and students.
Assist in document administration for statutory requirements.
Collating Statistical Reports: Arranging deadline dates, updating spreadsheets, calculating averages.
Preparing mark sheets and statistics for the Registry.
Helping students with queries.
Deadline priority scheduling according to the timetable.
Managing the schedule of Production Course staff.
General Office Management
Taking ownership of all administrative duties for Production Course under supervision of the Head of Production Course
Taking charge of all campus responsibilities pertaining to the student/staff internal network.
Support in the Resource Centre.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Requirements and Personal Attributes:
Minimum Honours Degree
Experience in education and the Film, Television and / or Performance industries
Knowledge, understanding of the Entertainment world in the above areas
Sound academic skills including the ability to use the Harvard Referencing System and the ability to help students who need Academic Development.
