Film, audio, multimedia and animation students are likely to benefit from the opening in July in Cape Town of the SAE Institute, a leading international creative media educator. This is the 50th campus in the global SAE network.
Says MD for SAE Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa Marco Bettelli: “Cape Town and the greater South Africa show enormous promise in the film and creative industries and we hope that SAE Institute is able to enhance its viability as an international investment hub. We’d like to offer South African students the opportunity to access cutting-edge global technology, in order to further develop the country’s already booming creative trades.”
The first diploma intake for Audio Engineering, Digital Animation and Multimedia and Web Development will kick off in July, with courses such as Electronic Music Production and the Digital DJ course set to launch later in 2008. This will then be supplemented by the one year Digital Film Making diploma, scheduled to launch in 2009.
SAE Institute Cape Town will be housed in a landmark 1821 building, situated in the heart of Cape Town’s business district. Home to state of the art recording studios, an advanced computer centre, and two fully-equipped lecture halls, the campus’ facilities offer the latest technology in all fields of creative study.
SAE’s diploma offering is also unique as students will have the opportunity to transfer internationally to other SAE campuses with their full credits and continue their studies at an undergraduate or postgraduate level. With all global campuses utilising the same pioneering technology, South African students will be able to travel abroad while still enjoying an uninterrupted period of study.
