Mail & Guardian reports that Dali Mpofu, CEO of public broadcaster SABC has denied that there is a Cabinet plot to get him fired.
This is in response to a Sunday Times article which reported that Mpofu accused President Thabo Mbeki’s cabinet of planning to oust him.
SABC spokesperson Kaiser Kganyago has now stated that Mpofu’s accusation, expressed during a meeting with Parliament, referred only to a single, un-named individual in the Cabinet.
There have also been media reports that Mpofu is at loggerheads with both the SABC board and the controversial head of SABC News, Snuki Zikalele.
