Fri, 20 Jun 2008

Over 200 delegates from across the world will gather in London on 24 and 25 June to attend the largest, most comprehensive high definition (HD) conference of the year. The event is touted as being the only one to cover the entire HD value chain.

Delegates from South Africa, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, US and UK have already registered.

The high-level panel of speakers will dive deep into end-to-end HD development, deployment and technology. The programme is case-study focused, featuring speakers from big broadcasters, cable & satellite distributors, production and post-production houses, right through to studios, equipment specialists, manufacturers and leading consultants. A few highlights:

  • HD Production Goes Tapeless: experts from ESPN, Lime Pictures, and VRT Media Lab will show you their optimal strategies for HD production, from ingest right through to playout. With a focus on integrating IT with workflow and metadata, this session is a must-attend for anyone looking at implementing an HD-ready media asset management or workflow solution.
  • High Definition by Genre: this series of case studies will focus on which genres have adopted HD, which haven't, and why. You will hear from the BBC and HD Suisse, plus an exclusive France 2 case study of the Tour de France's cutting-edge journey into high definition.
  • Beyond HD - the next generation, new applications, 3D? Roderick Snell of Snell & Wilcox will lead this strategic look into the future of HD, including the subject on everyone's minds, 3D production. In this session, you will benefit from high-level input from NHK and BBC Research.
