Google-owned video sharing website YouTube is testing its pay-per-view platform at the Sundance Film Festival, which runs in Park City, Utah until 30 January, by offering five festival movies for rent.
The Wrap reports that Google believes that making content available for rent on YouTube will give its partners “unprecedented control over the distribution of their work".
After Sundance, YouTube will conduct more tests with partners drawn from other industries.
