IPTV World Forum North America

Tue, 13 May 2008

In a first for North America, the IPTV World Series heads to Chicago from 22 to 23 July, to address the significant number of regional and local telecoms operators in North America who have pioneered this new digital TV platform. North America is expected to account for a large proportion of the world’s new IPTV subscriptions during the next few years.

The Forum, which takes place at the McCormick Place Convention Centre in Chicago, will deal with the strategic and technical issues facing the deployment of IPTV in the region and will use specific examples to demonstrate the varying methods used to overcome these.

Topics include: Making multi-network, multi-screen convergence a reality; Exploiting the potential for wireline, wireless and entertainments convergence; Why should an IPTV DVR look like a generic DVR?; Setting a new benchmark for home entertainment in the US; and What fibre-to-the-home means for broadband and television in California.

There will be speakers from AT&T, Verizon, TELUS, SureWest Communications and TiVO.

Running parallel to the two-day conference is a free exhibition previewing the latest technology from Ericsson, Tandberg Television, Ruwido, Verimatrix, Digisoft and Mitsubishi.
