Two new releases, Hellboy II and Space Chimps, made their debut at the South African box office on the weekend of 19 to 21 September, but neither could shift Mamma Mia! from the number one spot.

The action adventure fantasy Hellboy II raked in R778,019 while the animated family fare, Space Chimps, took in R588,786 over the same period.

Meanwhile, the South African film Jerusalema, continues to perform well after four weeks in release. For the above weekend it took R271,731, putting it into seventh spot. It has now made just over R2m in total. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
