Advanced Micro Devices has released its new Ati Radeon graphics card, which it claims, makes it possible to produce films starring late actors like Marlon Brando. Directors will be able to create virtual actors and manipulate their facial expressions with this new technology.

In addition, the card will enable directors to control lighting, staging and dialogue digitally. Which all brings to mind the 1994 film, The Crow, in which the late Brandon Lee died eight days before filming ended. A double was used to complete Lee’s last scenes and his face was digitally composited onto the double. (Source: Studio Briefing)
