
As South Africa tries to find a local cinema audience for its slowly increasing number of indigenously produced films, it’s good to hear that domestic films are doing well in other countries. Cineuropa reports that Italy’s domestic film ticket sales for 2010 have already reached 10 million.
From 1 January to 7 March last year, the market share for domestic films dropped to 24.4% and is now at 33.5%.
Five Italian films released in 2010 have made more than €5m at the local box office.
