”Yella” named best film in Berlin

Christian Petzold's "Yella" was named the best film on Monday night, 11 February at the German Film Critics' Awards during the Berlin International Film Festival.

The director's psychological drama about a woman pursued by a violent past premiered last year at the fesival, where star Nina Hoss won the best actress Silver Bear.

The film also took the cinematography award for cameraman Hans Fromm.

German critics also picked Maren Kroymann for its best actress prize for her performance in Angelina Maccarone's "Verfolgt." Ulrich Noethen took the best actor nod for his walk-on role as SS head Heinrich Himmler in the Dani Levy comedy "Mein Fuhrer: The Truly Truest Truth About Adolf Hitler."
