“Grey Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl has made an impact at the South African box office with the romantic comedy “27 Dresses”. The film made R1.9m in its opening week (1 to 7 February).

Second highest earner for the same week was the Nicolas Cage sequel “National Treasure 2”. It has earned R8.3m in four weeks of release.

“The Bucket List”, a story of old-timers starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, has made R2.2m in two weeks and is in the number three spot.

In fourth place is the Golden Globe and Oscar nominated epic wartime romance, “Atonement”, followed by Will Smith’s “I am Legend”, which has amassed R12.6m in six weeks.
