Filmed entertainment spend to increase

The PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Entertainment and Media Outlook predicts that consumers worldwide will spend $111.2bn on all forms of filmed entertainment in 2012. This is up 30% from 2007’s figure of $8.5bn.

While predicting that the greatest growth will come from streaming video, the Outlook maintains that box office will grow by 6.1% to $36.9bn, largely influenced by 3D productions.
