The second film in The Chronicles of Narnia franchise, Prince Caspian, has predictably opened in top spot at the South African box office in its first week of release (6 to 12 June), making R2.9m.

It has toppled mega big earner Sex and The City The Movie into second spot. The film made a whopping R4m in just one week.

The other blockbuster, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, is in third spot after two weeks, with R6.9m. In fourth and fifth spots are the two romantic comedies, What Happens in Vegas and Definitely, Maybe.
