Netflix direct to home

Fri, 13 Jun 2008

In the latest example of a video on demand service, American online DVD rental company Netflix three weeks ago launched a set top box that can stream movies directly to subscribers’ television sets. Priced at $99, the box quickly sold out.

Japanese manufacturer Roku reportedly needs a period of eight weeks to begin fulfilling new orders. Netflix has not confirmed exactly how many boxes had been sold. (Source: Video Business)
