Stepping Stone Pictures, the company which produced the acclaimed box office hit White Wedding, will be releasing its second feature called Paradise Stop. The film was shot in 2009 in Limpopo and sees the return of the team comprising writer/director Jann Turner and recognised actors Kenneth Nkosi and Rapulana Seiphemo.

Turner says of the film: "Paradise Stop is like White Wedding and has the same captivating humour and an acute but loving look into the vibrant ups and downs of life in current day South Africa."

The film has been financed by Ken Follett Presents. Turner explains; "This was a company set up to fund Stepping Stone Pictures. We will apply for the DTI rebate."

The script spent nine months in development and Turner says that this time the story comes more from research than from personal experience. "Paradise Stop is also a bigger film than our last one and the challenges have come from trying to realise a more ambitious script while keeping costs down to around the R6m mark."
