Assisting editorial and technical staff with logistical planning whilst travelling and producing programming on the continent of Africa
This will include:
* Planning and setting up stations to feed material to the base station in Johannesburg
* Co-ordinate live broadcasts on location, liaising between field reporters, logistics personnel and the news desk
* Arranging guests for live interviews
* Researching and forward questions for live interviews to the news desk
* Assisting the field reporter and camera operator with conceptualizing and visualizing stories assigned
* Assisting with field reporter in setting up and researching interview talent and case studies for the assignment
* Researching, conceptualizing and producing news and feature inserts
Requirements
* At least two years broadcasting experience
* Good editorial judgement and interpretational skills
* Ability to work under pressure making deadlines
* Good understanding of field production equipment for filming editing and feeding purposes
* Willingness to travel on the Africa continent and work irregular and long hours
* Experience in travelling and working on the continent of Africa will be an advantage
Note:
• The successful candidate will be required to work irregular and long hours, including weekends, public holidays and standby shifts
• This is a contract position only
